Week 2 almost over

Well, week 2 of COSMOS is almost over. I can't believe it. It's such a great group this year. I am impressed by how creative everyone is and how fast they are picking up computer programming. We have literally done 3-4 weeks worth of material in just 3-4 days! Yesterday we did a little project where everyone had to write a function to manipulate an image in some way and then they received a random image from another member in the class and had to apply their function to that image. It was pretty neat. There were lots of cool and unexpected images created.

As usual, commuting from Fullerton continues to be difficult. :( The Amtrak has been less reliable than it usually is. Yesterday was opening day at the Del Mar race track so we got to ride with several hundred (possibly over 1000, even) people who had been partying all afternoon. Luckily Alex and I paid for an upgrade to buisiness class (actually we used our free coupon) so we got to ride in relative calm. But waiting on the platform was annoying and the train was 45 minutes late... again!

OK, that's all for now. I'll try to do at least one more post before my time at COSMOS is done.

We are pretty great :)

I loved our lesson on Wednesday; I felt so comfortable writing the programs and applying all of the images I had to them! It is such an exciting feeling when the programs work!
